- FCC Leadership Changes: Commissioners Simington and Starks will depart the FCC this week – a shift that could impact regulatory priorities.Read more
- Federal Indoor Mapping Bill proposed: SBC joined a consortium led by ESRi to review a draft of a letter expressing concerns to the bill sponsor regarding their proposed bill pertaining to in building mapping. The consensus: the bill should be opposed as written because it could preclude essential standards-based GIS mapping technologies. You can learn more about the bill here.
- Qualcomm & Sidelink: Qualcomm plans to petition the FCC for spectrum to support sidelink – an innovation with promise for in-building mobile-to-mobile comms. SBC recognizes the importance and potential of sidelink technology. Learn more
- TCCA CCW Brussels (June 17–19): SBC’s John Foley will speak on two panels alongside Qualcomm, FirstNet/AT&T, and others. This is the first time SBC has been invited to speak at TCCA. View the agenda
