Codes and Standards Work Group July 2022 Update

The Safer Buildings Coalition Codes & Standards Work Group met July 1, 2022 to provide input on code issues as well as move forward other projects. A couple key highlights:
- Welcomed SBC members Roger Harris, Jose Garcia, Alireza Karimi from iBwave and Ryan Coon from Tower IQ into the group.
- Stood up a subcommittee for NFPA 1225 TIA response and recommendations. Richard Roberts volunteered to chair and set interim meetings.
- Scheduled NFPA 1225 work group is meeting in October to put together a larger sized TIA from committee for approval. Topics being discussed include:
- In-building emergency communications enhancement systems
- NextGen 9-1-1
- Cloud-based CAD and 9-1-1
- Changes to the chapters on inspection, testing, and maintenance
