Scott McClure
Vice President
Alliance Corporation

Position Sought:
Treasurer

Candidate Statement:
I have been a part of numerous trade groups and associations during my 28-year career in the wireless industry. I can’t think of an organization that has been more effective towards a mission or done more for its membership than SBC.  As an active member of the Safer Buildings Coalition since 2017, the Alliance team and I have seen the Coalition’s influence spread and evolve within a dynamic environment. Outstanding leadership has enabled us to make communities and first responders safer while supporting the growth of our businesses.

I am inspired to give back as part of the next leadership team that will chart SBC’s course for the future. As a result, I am seeking election to the Board as the Treasurer. Should I have the privilege of being elected, I believe the wide exposure I have geographically and across technologies will make me an asset to the group. I formally served on the board of the Wireless Communications Association International (WCAI) which promoted the benefits of wireless broadband networks to cover underserved areas.

I have a firm understanding on evaluating and communicating financial data within an organization to make sound decisions. Fiscal responsibility and effective use of Coalition resources will be my guiding principles to ensure that SBC remains a cost-effective outlet to educate and support on the importance of reliable public safety communications across North America.

Thank you for your consideration for the Treasurer position.
