SBC Board At-Large Candidate: John ThompsonJohn Thompson
Position Sought:
Candidate Statement:
I have a passion to advance reliable communications and its ability to save lives. Reliable in-building communications is a large gap today that must be addressed. It creates risk for the responders and the those they are serving. As the leader of MCA’s DAS business, I see daily the need for a more consistent and thorough adoption of the fire codes and proper usage of in-building technologies. SBC has been a great partner for me and MCA to address education of AHJ’s building owners and radio system owners.
I believe SBC will continue to lead the way to address coverage in new and existing facilities with consistent cost-effective technology solutions, new first responder tools like Firstnet, and reduce the interference effect from enhancement systems.
I fully support the mission of SBC and feel that I can help further its goals with my active participation and service in the organization. I believe I can bring value to the SBC Board from my current role as an ERCES business leader and my career experience in the wireless market. Please feel to reach out if you have any questions.
